Your practical test will be carried out at a local test centre with a DVSA Examiner that you will have booked having discussed a plan of action with your instructor in advance.
Your test will last approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic and situations you come across while driving. You may be asked to complete an emergency stop while on your test, and you will be asked to complete one manoeuvre.
The driving test will begin with an eyesight check; you will need to read a number plate to the examiner at a distance of 20.5 metres. You will be asked a tell me a question at the beginning of your test, and a show me a question as you drive. You can find a list of the questions at Gov.uk.
Manoeuvres are:
Pull up on the right hand side of the road reverse back 2 car lengths and drive on when safe.
Parallel park around another vehicle
Reverse into a parking bay
Forward bay park into a bay
Your examiner will debrief you at the end of your test and tell you if you have been successful.
You must complete the test with no more than 15 minor faults or any serious or dangerous faults to be successful. If you receive a number of minor faults or repeated the same fault, this will result in a fail.
